Resumo: The hosting organization is an NGO established in Croatia in 2017 with the specific mission of sustaining traditional maritime culture; namely, the skills, knowledge and values of the communities along the Dalmatian Coast. Inspired in part by the EU Parliament member conference on maritime heritage hosted in 2016 in Betina, Croatia, a call to citizen action was presented.
Recognizing and responding to the societal challenge of the rapid decline of opportunities available to youth and young adults to experience first-hand such important aspects of their maritime heritage, the organization was founded by dedicated individuals committed to address this issue.
With support of international and regional entities, the organization established its headquarters and maritime training facility at a traditional wooden boatbuilding shipyard, a community with history of fishing and boatbuilding

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Volunteers will engage hands-on in a variety of both traditional and contemporary manual crafts and projects, and will be introduced to various skills and techniques that they will be required to practice in their day to-day service (mainly about traditional boatbuilding).
Sharing maritime knowledge of each volunteer‘s home country will also be a component of this project. This program aims to improve the current and future life of the local community.
TASK 1) The repair, restoration and seasonal maintenance of wooden boats will be the initial primary service of all volunteers. Individuals will be expected to learn and practice various skills using both traditional and modern tools. Guidance in learning and preforming the work of the boat carpenter will be directed by an experienced the organization builder of wooden boats.
TASK 2) volunteers will be required to design and develop educational presentations that they will deliver to students at schools on Brac island.

Condições: Sharing apartment, rooms, kitchen facilities and bathroom.
THE PROJECT COVERS: board and accommodation in apartments (sharing bedrooms) travel costs will be reimbursed for the cheapest and most direct way of transport, according to Erasmus+ distance calculator:
100 - 499 km: 180€ per participant
500 - 1999 km: 275€ per participant
2000 - 2999 km: 360€ per participant
pocket and food money per month. all meals, laundry, maintaining the apartment is done by volunteers themselves.
